Highlife star, Kofi Nti denies stealing “Alewa” song for Ofori Amponsah
Ghanaian High life musician, Kofi Nti also known in his private life as Theophilus Kofi Nti, has denied accusation that he stole the hit song “Alewa” from former runner up of TV3’s Mentor Season one , Andy. Reacting to the accusation on Atinka FM, Kofi Nti said there is no iota of truth in the story. . Kofi Nti explained that Andy sent the song to his (Kofi Nti) Manager because Andy wanted to do collaboration with him on the song. “My Manager told him the song should be edited because the lyrics were not too good”. I never listened to the song but it was my Manager who advised him to change some portion of the song. I was surprised when he said he had sent the song via my whatsapp but I don’t even have Whatsapp on my phone”, he added. According to the “Rakia” hit maker, if he wanted to steal the song for Ofori Amponsah, he would have given it to Daddy Lumba because “Lumba is my God father”. Andy had claimed that Ofori Amponsah’s trending song ‘Alewa’ is a copyrighted song he composed. Andy said, “he was advised by his producer to feature a popular high life singer to sing the chorus. According to Andy, he thought of featuring his colleague Okuraseni Samuel but later called Ghanaian High Life artiste, Kofi Nti, who urged him to change some lyrics in the song but he (Andy) refused.
