Eastern regional police have arrested a public toilet operator for indecently assaulting a 9-year-old pupil at a public toilet. Narrating the incident to Pulse.com.gh », the Deputy Eastern regional Police PRO, Sgt Gideon Boateng said the incident, happened on the 8th of October around 9.30am when the victim was on her way to the public toilet. According to Sgt Boateng, the suspect, a 67-year-old Alfred Padi Mensah lured the victim to the children's block of the female toilet and inserted his finger into her private parts. He said due to fear, the victim could not report the incident to her parents. However, the victim was compelled to inform her parents after she was assaulted a second time by a 27- year-old driver at a primary school block in the region, Sgt Boateng added. According to Sgt Boateng, the victim's parents reported the incident to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit, DOVVSU unit at Koforidua. The two suspects, he said, were subsequently arrested and would soon be arraigned before court, pending further investigations.
